Queen & Whippet has been crafting exquisite dining experiences since 2015. We have catered for hundreds of exceptional weddings and events at some of the most prestigious venues in the region.
Before Queen & Whippet was established, Pete had 20 years of experience as a chef, working for top restaurants and caterers in London, Edinburgh, Belfast and Bristol. Jo’s background is in high-profile corporate and music industry events in Europe and the UK.
Our highly skilled team of chefs, waiters and event and office staff have worked with us for many years. They are consummate professionals, ensuring that every detail is executed with precision, elegance, and a seamless, unobtrusive service.
We provide premium event catering services for weddings, corporate events, and private events. We offer menus including plated dining, sharing, bowl food, canapés, barbecues and buffets from our menus or bespoke menus created to your requirements. Marquee weddings are a speciality.
We can supply and serve drinks, or we can arrange for staff to serve drinks that you provide yourself.
We cater to discerning clients across the Cotswolds, Bristol, Bath, Gloucestershire, Wiltshire and Somerset. Occasionally, we travel further afield to London and the Home Counties, Devon, Dorset and South Wales.
Costs vary according to your required service, but prices start at £75 +VAT a head for weddings.
We hold a five star food safety rating from South Gloucestershire Council. Our chefs are fully hygiene-trained and we can provide risk assessment method statements (RAMS) for corporate events as necessary.
We hold Public Liability Insurance cover to £10m.
You can see a selection of testimonials and you can find many more five star reviews of our services on our Google Business page.
We work with trusted local hire companies who provide high-quality and on-trend tableware, glassware, linen and many other event items
Our waiting staff usually wear smart and tasteful muted blue chambray shirts with subtle Q&W branding and grey aprons and black trousers. If you require a more formal or themed presentation, please let us know.
Absolutely, it’s our speciality! We can take inspiration from your theme, travels and favourites to create a delicious and personal menu. For corporate catering, we can incorporate elements that align with your values and branding.
We understand that not everyone has the time or inclination to create their own menu with us, so we have a selection of set menus that change every season.
Our chefs are fully allergy-trained, and we can also provide menus for special diets including (but not limited to) gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan, vegetarian, pescatarian, low-carb, low-calorie, raw food or FODMAP. We’re passionate about taking an inclusive approach to dealing with dietary issues, you can read more about it here
We create our menus around the best possible local and seasonal produce. We use carefully picked suppliers who share our quality and sustainability goals. Our meat is from Origin Butchers in South Gloucestershire, our fish from Kingfisher in Brixham, vegetables from Cobrey Farm in the Wye Valley and fruit from Warren’s Fruit Farm in Somerset. Other specialist local suppliers include Bristol Loaf for their incredible sourdough and Lye Cross Farm in the Chew Valley for dairy and cheeses.
For corporate events, simply complete our online enquiry form, and we will arrange an initial consultation before taking care of everything. A 25% initial payment is payable to secure our services.
For weddings, enquire through our form, and we’ll arrange a call to get the details we need for a fully itemised quote. When you’re happy with that, we’ll arrange a time for you to join us in our East Bristol kitchen for a tasting. To secure our services we’ll issue our contract and an invoice for your first payment of 25% of your total projected cost. We'll have a comprehensive planning call two to three months before your wedding to review your menus and logistics. Your final payment, along with confirmed numbers and dietaries, is due one month in advance. For more information on the process, see our wedding brochure.
For private bookings, the process depends on the scale of your event but will largely follow the above schedule.
We understand that some clients might have different communication needs and preferences, so if you’d prefer to correspond in writing wherever possible rather than on a phone call, just let us know.
Our first conversation is an opportunity to refine your vision. We will explore your menu preferences, discuss logistical considerations, and tailor a bespoke catering plan. Following this, we provide an inspiration-led menu and a fully itemised and transparent quotation.
Tastings are free of charge if you have already confirmed your booking with an initial payment. Otherwise, we charge £250 +VAT in advance, which will be deducted from your balance invoice if you confirm.
Our team arrives approximately three hours before guest arrival to ensure every detail is meticulously prepared. The event manager and core team arrive first, followed by waiting staff closer to service.
We can dress tables with linens, glassware, cutlery, and crockery as standard, unless you have a planner or stylist to fulfil this service. We can design and print table menus for an additional charge, and can recommend florists, stylists, equipment hire companies and stationers for your perfect tablescape, if required.
Event suppliers such as photographers, planners, and musicians usually ask in their contracts that they be fed on the day. We look after these hard-working folks by arranging a plated meal for them at a reduced cost per head. Just let us know numbers and any dietary requirements.
Yes, we can arrange a plating service for your cake, and supply crockery, cake stands and ceremonial cake knives by arrangement.
At the close of your event, we discreetly clear and remove all food and drink waste and organise used tableware and linen into the designated crates for collection.
The head chef and their kitchen crew will be the first to arrive, followed by the front-of-house manager and their team of waiting and bar staff.
Yes, at venues which require the use of the main space to be adapted for the evening, our team will move furniture and styling elements accordingly.
If you’re searching for wedding evening food ideas that impress, or a trusted caterer for your next event, Queen and Whippet is ready to bring your vision to life. Let’s talk food—we love to talk food!
